It took going out with someone else, and seeing a therapist, to get Derek and Meredith to finally end up with each other. In reality, yes it takes shitty things to go through to make it work, but reality isn't on your side when it comes to a happy ending like theirs, does it? This isn't a pessimist talking, it's a realist instead. Derek swept Meredith off her feet all the time. I hate living in this show every time I watch it. Wishing the rush and the skipped heartbeats are real stuff. Damn the scriptwriters.
